Illinois, Texas Tech ranked in top 10 of recent men’s basketball Power 37

After a tumultuous week, the Power 37 is seeing some major movement as Illinois and Texas Tech make the top 10.

Here are the latest rankings:

1. Arizona (1): The Wildcats are rolling in the Big 12.
2. UConn (3): The Huskies aren’t playing their best, but they’re finding a way to win the Big East.

3. Purdue (4): The Steamers are in contention for the No. 1 spot behind Braden Smith’s stellar play.
4. Duke (7): The Blue Devils are coming off the back of Cameron Boozer’s Bay Area Player of the Week.
5. Nebraska (9): It’s time to give the Huskers the first five spots they’ve earned.
6. Michigan (5): The Wolverines found a way to beat Northwestern and have two more wins.
7. Gonzaga (6): Zags get beat in the post, but still win the WCC.
8. Houston (8): The Cougars have re-emerged as a top 12 contender in Arizona.
9. Illinois (13): The Illini are playing well at the right times and finding a variety of offensive options.
10. Texas Tech (14): The Red Raiders are poised for a top-three Big 12 finish with a win over BYU.
11. Michigan State (12): The Spartans picked up their first win in dramatic fashion on a Northwestern swing.
12. Iowa State (2): The Cyclones suffered a major setback after losing to Kansas State and losing to Cincinnati.

13. BYU (10): In Lubbock, J.T. The Cougars couldn’t overcome the 1-2 punch of Toppin and Christian Anderson.
14. Florida (16): The Gators are riding a 4-1 SEC record after sweeping the road trip.
15. Vanderbilt (11): The Commodores come back down to earth with a pair of SEC losses.
16. Clemson (20): The Tigers are undefeated in the ACC and beat Miami.
17. Virginia (18): Ryan Odom’s team is a threat to finish second in the ACC.
18. Miami (15): There is no shame in the first ACC loss to Clemson.
19. Wisconsin (24): The Badgers found their groove again after their win at Michigan. After that, they beat Minnesota and beat Rutgers.
20. John’s (31): The Red Storm bounce back after knocking off Creighton and Villanova on the road.
21. Kansas (NR): The Jayhawks returned to their rightful place in the polls with wins over Iowa State and Baylor.
22. Kentucky (NR): The Wildcats are back in the polls with wins at LSU and Tennessee State.
23. San Diego State (32): The Aztecs beat New Mexico and the only undefeated team in the Mountain West.
24. Alabama (27): The Tide has won two straight and is back in the SEC mix.
25. Georgia (19): The Bulldogs lost to Ole Miss, but are still just one loss away from the opener.

26. Texas A&M (25): The Aggies lost to Tennessee, but were able to beat rival Texas.
27. Miami (OH) (34): The RedHawks continue to find a way to win and are one of three teams remaining undefeated.
28. Villanova (21): The Wildcats lost at home to St. John’s.
29. Missouri (29): The Tigers all take turns beating each other in the SEC. See below.
30-33. Auburn (26), Arkansas (28), Ole Miss (NR), Tennessee (NR): See above.
34. Utah State (17): The Aggies suffered their first MWC loss at Grand Canyon.
35. West Virginia (30): The Mountaineers bounced back against Colorado after a tough loss at Houston.
36. St. Louis (35): The Billikens remain the winningest team in the A-10 (see below).
37. George Mason (36): See above.
