Donald Trump has set 8:00 p.m. Washington time this Tuesday as the deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. If the blockade of the strategic crossing is maintained, the US Army will bomb the power plants and bridges of the Islamic Republic, despite the fact that the UN has reminded the president that these attacks would constitute a war crime.
While Trump does not close the door on a diplomatic solution at the last minute, Tehran has rejected Pakistan’s proposal for a temporary 45-day ceasefire, requiring a complete cessation of hostilities and an end to economic sanctions. Meanwhile, Israel also continues to bomb targets in the Persian country.
