Mota-Engil, through its subsidiary Mota-Engil México, signed new contracts in Mexico worth more than 1 billion euros, the largest of which is for railway construction worth 820 million euros, the company said.
In a note sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), Mota-Engil explains that the new contract signed with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport covers the design and construction of the second section (between Apaseo el Grande and Irapuato) of the Querétaro-Irapuato railway link, with a total length of 70.7 kilometers.
In August, the company had already been awarded the first section of this work, which corresponds to a strategic project within Mexico’s National Railway Plan.
Additionally, also in Mexico, the company recently won several contracts worth a total of around 200 million euros associated with the construction of railway infrastructures.
Therefore, with these contracts, Mota-Engil is resuming the growth of its order book in Mexico, which now amounts to around 3.7 billion euros.
