This is a week in which the word freedom stands out. The freedom of expression and information to which Francisco Pinto Balsemão dedicated his life. With it, Expresso’s slogan was created: “Freedom to Think”, without ties to political correctness, but also without ever giving up on a passionate defense of the values of Democracy.
He began defending free journalism during the dictatorship and remained so until the last day of his life. Francisco Pinto Balsemão died on October 21st at the age of 88.
