It was supposed to be officially launched this Monday in Plaza de Callao, in Madrid, but “Lux” ended up being shown in advance on the screens in Times Square, in New York. Unforeseen events aside, Rosalía has a new album – her fourth – which will be available on November 7th.

The announcement in New York surprised fans and caught the singer herself off guard. In a live broadcast on TikTok, which was already scheduled, Rosalía reacted to the news: “What is this? They got ahead of us in New York! It must have been a human error. We were supposed to announce it in Callao beforehand.”

Before seeing the news on social media, the singer had already explained how she had been preparing for this day for three years.

On Instagram, where she shared the cover of “Lux”, in which she appears with her eyes closed, hugging herself and wearing a nun’s veil, the artist celebrated the work: “HABEMUS ALBUM”, she wrote.

The announcement of Luxwhich means light in Latin, was already expected after a shared video by the artist, filmed in a church. Rosalía described herself in a interview as a “pop theologian” and shared that she finds the nuns’ lifestyle interesting, “focused only on creating and finding peace”.

After “Motomami” (2022), which was internationally awarded, the singer now returns with a more introspective approach. According to an official statement, “this is its most innovative and global launch” to date.
