La Presidenta Sheinbaum afirmó que la FGR solicitará a EU la extradición de Víctor Álvarez Puga y seguirá investigando a su pareja, Inés Gómez Mont.


Víctor Álvarez Puga, husband of Inés Gómez Mont, is identified by the Mexican justice system as allegedly responsible for being involved in a network of shell companies and committing a million-dollar fraud to the detriment of the federal government.

Mexico City, October 28 (However).- The President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stated this Tuesday that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) will search for the extradition of Victor Alvarez Puga after his arrest in States Joined (EU), and will inform if his partner, the presenter, was also arrested Inés Gómez Mont.

The businessman and lawyer is wanted by the Mexican justice system after being identified as allegedly responsible for the crimes of embezzlement, organized crime and money laundering.

According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) records, Álvarez Puga is in administrative custody at the Krome North Processing Center in Miami, Florida, after being arrested due to an alleged irregularity in his legal status.

In this regard, President Sheinbaum revealed that she asked the FGR the information regarding the arrest of the businessman, in addition to whether his partner, Inés Gómez Mont, was also arrested, this during the meeting with the Security Cabinet this Tuesday.

The president assured that “the idea is that [Álvarez Puga] sent to Mexico”.

“We are going to wait for the Prosecutor’s Office to give us the latest information and with pleasure, because it is the Prosecutor’s Office that has the case, to know exactly if extradition is being requested, if it is deportation, under what conditions he was detained and also if the person you say is involved. [Inés Gómez Mont]”, said.
