Several regions of the archipelago could be affected by the tsunami, according to local authorities.

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake has triggered a tsunami warning off the east coast of Japan, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center. The Japanese country’s meteorological agency has warned that waves up to three meters high could reach the prefectures of Iwate, Amori and Hokkaido. The epicenter of the earthquake has been recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers.
