The command and control container is a product developed by the Unmanned Vehicles Operational Experimentation Cell (CEOV), which, installed outside the Marinha Grande Municipal Stadium, has coordinated all the work of the marines and other operators on the ground.
“What we are seeing is a command and control container. We have all the information that is necessary in terms of databases, georeferencing, weather, we have news, and based on this work that has been done, articulated together with the elements of the city council and civil protection, we have managed to allocate our human and material resources to achieve the objectives of helping the population in a much more efficient way”, explains Commander Cruz Neves, in charge of the work at Marinha Grande.
Local authorities also participate in the work on the military container, such as the president of the Câmara da Marinha Grande. According to Paulo Vicente, the losses in the municipality “at this moment, are already estimated at more than one hundred million euros”, he reveals to DN. The Navy equipment “has helped us a lot, not only in terms of planning to help the population, but above all also in effective work on the ground”, highlights the mayor, who also has Army operatives allocated to respond to the crisis in Marinha Grande.
