Highway 1 (A1) reopened to traffic between Albergaria and Aveiro Sul at 7:45 pm, in the South-North direction, remaining closed in the opposite direction, due to a forest fire that is already being resolved, informed sources from Brisa and Civil Protection.
Speaking to Lusa, a source from the concessionaire said that the A1 reopened at 7:45 pm, in the South-North direction, remaining closed in the opposite direction for firefighter operations.
The A1 was closed in both directions at around 5pm, due to a fire that had been raging since 11:30am in the Eixo area, in Aveiro, and which entered the resolution phase at around 7:50pm.
At 8pm, according to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), 211 operational personnel and 63 ground resources remained fighting the flames. Two aerial assets that are no longer operating were also fighting the flames.
Source from the Aveiro Region Sub-Regional Command said there were no houses or industries at risk.
