Álvaro Pacheco is confident of a new unbeaten record in the I League

The Reds’ last defeat in the championship happened in Rio Maior, in the last edition, and Álvaro Pacheco stressed his belief several times, without doubt in the response that Casa Pia will give, after two weeks without competition.

“We like this type of game, where we have to impose our ambition and courage, and stay focused on what we control. We know that we will face a highly demanding opponent, in which the small details can make all the difference. We want to respond to the growth that the team has had. These two weeks were important, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate this at the highest level. I believe that this opponent will lose to us”, he highlighted.

With eight games and 24 points still to be played, precisely the ones they have so far, the ‘geese’ continue in a ‘hot’ fight to remain in the elite, with Álvaro Pacheco establishing “33 or 34 points” as the points target at the end.

“We have to take responsibility for the moment and the importance of the moment we are at. We believe that 33 or 34 points can reach the objective. We have eight matches to achieve it and I am convinced that we will clearly achieve these points. I even believe that we will surpass that number”, he highlighted.

Still two days away from the duel, goalkeeper Ricardo Batista remains ‘out of the question’, due to injury, while midfielder Ofori is in doubt and winger Severina has already recovered from injury, but is still training conditionally.

“I look a lot at the collective value of the team. Injuries, punishments and a drop in form are things that happen. We have to work with the whole team and trust them. Casa Pia’s eleven will be the best for this game. I know what we have been doing and building since we have been here. We will give a capable response”, he assured.

Casa Pia, 15th place, with 24 points, receives Benfica, third, with 65, on Monday, at 8:45 pm, at the Rio Maior Municipal Stadium, in the 28th round of the I Football League, refereed by Hélder Carvalho, from the Santarém association.
