The new rules for British dual citizens are causing problems for children and teenagers who want to return to the country. According to the British newspaper The Guardian, since Thursday, at least four teenagers have been denied return to British territory. At issue are the new rules on border control, applied by the United Kingdom Government since February 25th.
People who want visit the territory for a short period of timehave the possibility of requesting an Electronic Travel Authorization, which cost is 16 British pounds (18.40 euros, at current prices). However, for citizens with dual nationality who want to return home, the scenario is completely different.
These have been required, for less than a month, to present a British passport. If they don’t, have the possibility to pay for a certificate that allows them to make the trip and costs no less than 589 British pounds (678 euros). This must be attached to the passport of the other nationality, so that they can board planes, boats or trains bound for the United Kingdom.
