This Thursday, April 16, FC Porto failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Europa League in football, losing 1-0 at Vítor Pereira’s Nottingham Forest in the second leg of the ‘quarters’.
After the 1-1 draw at Dragão, the Porto players, who had their 22nd defeat in England, where they had never won, in 25 visits, were eliminated by a goal from Morgan Gibbs-White, in the 12th minute, in a game in which they played with 10 since the eight, due to the direct red shown to the Polish Bednarek.
FC Porto won the second edition of the Europa League in 2010/11, led by current president André Villas-Boas, by beating Sporting de Braga 1-0 in the final, in Dublin, after also winning the predecessor Uefa Cup, in 2002/03, under the command of José Mourinho, current coach of Benfica.
