Government insists on extending the term of contracts and changes minimum services

The document also includes some changes in the sectors that are now covered by minimum services in the event of a strike.

If the proposal presented in July included food supply, care services for children, the elderly, the sick and people with disabilities, as well as private security services for essential goods or equipment in sectors intended to meet the needs of “essential social needs”, the new document no longer makes reference to the food supply and private security services for essential goods or equipment.

On the other hand, with regard to child care services, it clarifies that these are “institutionalized children”.

In a clarification sent to Lusa, the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security says that it “does not comment on the content” of the document “which is under reservation” and says “that this is not a proposal from the Government but the point at which negotiations with partners are at, including UGT”.
