The Lisbon Marriott Hotel on Avenida dos Combatentes announced this week a strategic investment to expand its infrastructure for the events sector. The focal point of this location is the conversion of a garage from a unit into a multi-purpose space of 1100 m², equipped as “The Garage”, with the capacity to accommodate 700 people in a plate size.
Thanks to this size, the new space occupies one of the main covered areas integrated into the hotel unit in the Portuguese capital, dedicated to high-impact presentations, brand launches and ceremonies. The structure is equipped with integrated audio-visual technology and high-speed connectivity, which allows the organization of events in contemporary, digital or hybrid formats (which combine physical presence with online transmission).
Focus on meeting and business tourism
Thanks to this expansion, the hotel will have access to a total of 16 meeting and social rooms on a global area of 2,548 m². Rooms vary in size, between 30 m² and 601 m², and adapt to different business needs.
This investment responds to the growth of the MICE segment – the international abbreviation for Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Reuniões, Incentivos, Conferências e Exposições). In practice, this is a specialized sector of the tourism industry, including the planning and organization of professional events, conferences and incentive tours for companies.
