A 40-year-old man was arrested on Monday, March 23, on suspicion of sexually abusing two minor nieces in Alenquer.
The alleged abuse of the two girls, who were aged seven and 10 at the time, occurred in 2017 at the suspect’s home in Alenquer, in the Lisbon district, according to the Judicial Police (PJ) reported this Tuesday.
According to a statementJ, the investigation originated from a communication made by the National Republican Guard (GNR), after being contacted by the school attended by one of the minors, which told what had happened there.
“Once the Sexual Crimes Investigation Section of the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Directorate of the PJ, which directs the investigation, was activated, evidence was collected that strongly indicates the suspect committed the crimes”, says the PJ.
The man will be subjected to judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
