Regarding the mandate of the future head of state, the current President considered that it will be a more difficult task than the one he had. “It’s been a difficult five years: wars, disturbances of all kinds, economic, political and social instability in the world, in some countries, including in Europe“, he listed. The head of state elected today “will have a more difficult task than the one I had throughout these mandates”. Marcelo also highlighted that the greater the participation, the greater the strength that is given to whoever is elected President”.
Until 12:00, the turnout was 22.35%. The value is above what was recorded in the first round. In comparison with the first round, the increase was 1.17 percentage points. In total, the previous vote had an abstention rate of 47.6%. In the 2021 presidential elections, in a year of pandemic, voter turnout at 12:00 was 17.07% and in 2016 it was 15.82%.
