With constant energy, the Frenchman pleased his audience, eager to see him take up the torch of a five-times titled franchise. He concluded his first match in the play-offs with a statistical record of 35 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

On the opponent’s side, Portland resisted thanks to a great performance from Deni Avdija (30 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists), and will challenge the Spurs again on Tuesday in San Antonio.

In the running for the title of best defender of the season

Before perhaps winning the title of best player in the NBA (MVP) at the end of the season, Victor Wembanyama was named among the finalists for the title of best defender of the season (DPOY).
