The body of a newborn was found in the early hours of Thursday, April 9, by an employee of Tratolixo, a waste management company located in São Domingos de Rana, in the municipality of Cascais.
The workers were separating the garbage collected over several days, in several municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, when one of them saw something suspicious on one of the conveyors used to sort the waste, says the JN.
Company employees later confirmed that it was the body of a newborn and alerted the authorities.
Although the PSP was at the scene, the investigation was carried out by the Judiciary Police, which is trying to determine the circumstances in which the fetus was placed among the garbage. However, it will be a difficult mission, since the waste sent to Tratolixo is collected in several municipalities and accumulates over several days.
This is the second body of a baby, in seven months, discovered at that location. In September last year, the body of another newborn, still with the umbilical cord, was also marked at Ecoparque de Trajouce, where waste is sorted.
