Portugal shines with silver and bronze at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup in Maia

Also in evidence was the female group composed of Diana Laranjinha, Melanie Rodrigues and Ema Fernandes, who won the bronze medal. The Portuguese trio scored 27,320 points in the exercise presented, guaranteeing third place in the classification.

Portugal was still close to other medals. In the mixed doubles, André Fiuza and Lara Fernandes finished in fourth place with 28,500 points, while João Carreira and Inês Nossa were in fifth place, after obtaining 28,400 points.

In the men’s groups, the Portuguese team formed by Tiago Ramos, Vítor Silva, Miguel Lopes and Gonçalo Parreira also came close to the podium, finishing in fourth place with a total of 26.350 points.

At the end of the competition, the technical director of the national team, Lucília Rodrigues, gave a very positive assessment of the Portuguese participation. “The balance is super positive. Finals in all the specialties we competed in, which was wonderful and was one of the goals we had. Success and pure evolution that I have seen since the first qualification until now. It’s just positive things. From now on, it’s always growing, always improving and the next one will be even better”, he stated.
