The minister also said that they were delivered more than 11 thousand requests for support for damage to private homes.
According to the minister, payments have already started to be made by the CCDR (Regional Coordination and Development Commission) of the Center and Lisbon and Tagus Valley.
“We gave priority, obviously, to people, then to factories, where people’s jobs are, but now is the time to be able to assess the many losses that the chambers suffered”, said the minister, quoted by Lusa.
The CCDR has also started to analyze and pay the first requests for support made by city halls, assured Manuel Castro Almeida.
On February 13, the government’s report showed “more than 8,200 requests from citizens or families” for support in the recovery of damaged homes. In support of families experiencing loss of income or in need, there were more than two thousand applications.
In relation to companies, it reported 3800 applications, in an amount that “already exceeds 850 million euros”, which led the Government to reinforce the credit line to the treasury from 500 to one billion euros.
In the agricultural sector, there were 4,500 requests for support “from across the national territory, and not just from areas in a state of calamity or contingency”, the Executive highlighted in a statement.
