Pro-Iran hackers spread photos and documents of FBI director after allegedly accessing his personal email

A group of hackers linked to Iran published this Friday photographs and documents of FBI Director Kash Patel, which they obtained after allegedly accessing his personal email.

The organization, known as Handala Hack Teamhas claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on its website. “You will now find your name among the list of victims of successful hacks,” they point out in reference to Patel.

At the moment, only one Justice Department official has confirmed to the agency Reuters that Patel’s emails “have been compromised,” although he has not offered further details.

A few weeks ago, the US Justice Department seized several website domains, including those of the Handala Hack Team, for “facilitating the hacking efforts of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, linked to psychological operations and transnational repression.”
