Initially, there was the intention of scheduling the return on a symbolic date, on April 1st, but the proximity of this calendar to the recovery period made it unfeasible. The new presentation was scheduled for April 22nd, maintaining the choice of Porto as the stage for this special reunion with the public.
“What better place than Porto, where Rui was once so happy, and at the Coliseu? The goal is to fill the Porto Coliseu for this memorable day”, highlighted the director.
The option for The MousetrapAgatha Christie’s classic detective story, was also designed based on the actor’s physical conditions during this return phase. In the play, Ruy de Carvalho plays Major Metcalf, a central character in the narrative, but with less continuous presence on stage than in the biographical show. Ruy, the story duewhere he takes over practically all the scenic action. This circumstance allows a progressive return to theatrical activity.
The production is part of the recent repertoire of the Yellow Star Company, responsible for circulating the show to various theaters across the country since 2020, with strong public support.
