The teenager who killed his mother, the then councilor of the Chamber of Vagos Susana Gravato, was sentenced this Friday, April 17th to three years of internment in a closed regime.
During the reading of the decision, at the Family and Minors Court of Aveiro, the presiding judge said that the court had proven that the young man killed his mother with two shots to the head.
The court took into account the testimony of the young man who confessed to the crime, accurately describing the facts. The judge also said that he was not emotional, having maintained the same facial expression when describing the way he shot his mother twice and without indicating a reason for attempting to kill his mother’s life.
The case dates back to October 21, 2025, when the woman was hit by a gunshot, inside her home, in Gafanha da Vagueira, in that municipality in the district of Aveiro.
The victim was found by her husband, who alerted the firefighters. Less than 24 hours after the crime, the Judiciary Police announced that they had identified the councilor’s son as the only suspect in his mother’s death.
