The six other pilots involved were transported to the medical center and nearby hospitals for precautionary examinations. None of the injured are in critical condition.
The race did not resume on Saturday evening. “The thoughts of everyone involved in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring are with the bereaved family of Juha Miettinen”shared the organizers in this same press release.
Max Verstappen ‘in shock’
Max Verstappen, who was due to take part in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, said he “in shock” on his Instagram account. “We all love motorsport, a moment like this reminds us how dangerous it can be,” he posted before sending his condolences to the family and loved ones of Juha Miettinen.
