According to the first elements communicated by the public prosecutor of Compiègne, the barriers of the level crossing “were lowered and intact at the time of impact, which tended to demonstrate that the vehicle had avoided them to enter the railway track”.

Disruptions to rail traffic were recorded. “Traffic is interrupted in both directions on the Amiens-Compiègne axis by an obstacle on the track at Estrées-St-Denis station”announced the SNCF on its X account (formerly Twitter).
