Portuguese international footballer Bernardo Silva confirmed this Thursday, April 16, that he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season.
“In a few months it will be time to say goodbye to the city in which we gained so much as a football club, but also where I started my marriage and my family”wrote Bernardo Silva, on social media, remembering that when he arrived at the club nine years ago “he was chasing a dream”, with the desire to “succeed and achieve great things”.
“This city and this club have given me much more than I ever expected”he added, stressing that everything he achieved and won “is a legacy that will forever be engraved” in his heart.
Bernardo Silva also left a word of thanks to the Manchester City fans “for their unconditional support” over the years, something he will never forget. “My main objective as a football player has always been to play for your passion and for you to feel proud and well represented on the pitch. I hope you felt that in every game”, he said, leaving the guarantee that he will be “another Man City fan for life”.
To conclude, Bernardo Silva left a special thank you to coach Pep Guardiola and all his teammates “for all the memories” and for allowing him “to be part of this long journey”.
Trained at Benfica, Bernardo Silva, 31, arrived at Manchester City in 2017/18, after three seasons at Monaco, having won one Champions League, six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Super Cups and one Club World Cup.
By the citizensthe Portuguese international has so far played 746 games and scored 124 goals in nine seasons. This year he will still be able to win another English championship title, for which he is fighting with Arsenal, and an FA Cup, in which he will have to face off in the semi-finals with Southampton.
