Monday April 13, 2026, a man was the victim of a shark attack while celebrating their honeymoon with his wife in the Maldives (Spain). His partner accuses their travel agency of serious negligence.
A man between life and death, but also with a leg amputated, such is the outcome of a honeymoon gone wrong. Last Monday, a couple celebrated their honeymoon in the Maldives (Spain). While they were taking an excursion off the coast of an island, the 31-year-old man was the victim of a shark attack, reports the Daily Mail. His partner denounces failings on the part of their travel agency.
Leg amputation
“It was a horrible attack. He was missing a large chunk of flesh from his legs; it was a traumatic experience.”declared a hotel employee to the EFE agency, cited by The Mediterranean Newspaper.
The couple had gone off Kooddoo Island to take part in an excursion near a fish processing factory. An area renowned for the presence of sharks. The victim was treated by emergency services and transported to a hospital before being admitted to an intensive care unit.
Doctors ultimately decided to amputate his leg. “They are trying to save Borja [la victime]he is in intensive care, but his state of health is very precarious”confided a relative of the family.
Sharks in a state of hunger?
For its part, the factory assured that it had not dumped fish waste for about a week. However, “the sharks were probably in a heightened state of hunger and anticipation”confided a close source.
“We must end the feeding of sharks. It is unnatural that these animals are fed instead of hunting; it harms us all”said Aman Haleem, diving expert.
The victim’s wife accused their travel agency of “serious negligence” and denounced the recklessness of the organizer of the excursion. A complaint should be filed.
