The Liga Portugal Permanent Calendar Committee decided this Friday, March 20th, that the game between Sporting and Tondela, relating to the 26th round, which should have taken place last weekend, will be held on April 29th, but only if the Lions are eliminated by Arsenal, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
If Sporting manages to qualify for the semi-finals, the Permanent Committee will meet on an emergency basis to decide the date of this match, which should have been held last weekend, but was postponed so that Rui Borges’ team could prepare for the game with the Norwegians Bodo/Glimt.
“If Sporting CP qualifies for the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the Permanent Calendar Committee will meet in an emergency, on the day immediately following the match of the second leg of that competition, to decide a date for that game”, says the statement from LIga Portugal, which adds: “If Sporting CP does not qualify for the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the game will be played on April 29th (Wednesday).”
