Resignation to Jose Angel Gonzalezjust now the Director of the Adjunto Operativo (DAO) of the National Police, started a crisis of such proportions that it ranks among the most serious of the many that have occurred in the current Ministry of the Interior.
No, this is a simple case of poor administrative practice. The complaint admitted by the Madrid youth describes a scenario of sexual aggression, coercion and embezzlement that directly threatens the position Fernando Grande-Marlaska meaning much that should have been left on paper.
The DAO said its cargo was under investigation for allegedly violating the official life of a subordinate.
But this scandal cannot be solved by simple renunciation. Marlaska’s liability is inevitable.
And not only because he trusted González as his right-hand man, or the existence of security, personified in your dismissed commissioner Oscar San Juanwho allegedly concealed the complaint and tried to silence the victim with professional paper plans.
The case involving Marlaska is due to the fact that the circumstances under which it occurred stem from a previous political decision.
Cabe recordar que Marlaska devised a legal contract to prolong González’s career. I implemented it with the Women’s Assistance Ordinance and introduced an amendment that allowed the DAO to continue operating beyond the mandatory cheer age of 65.
This exceptional privilege has perverse consequences today.
After being artificially deprived of working life, the government allowed González to become a “golden jubilee” after he was accused of violations.
While the commissioner who filed the complaint received a disciplinary action for a very serious case, ex-DAO has this body to body suspension. Thanks to the tax return, González goes straight to cheers and avoids the disciplinary regime that would apply to any other active policy.
Favoring González was morally unacceptable when dealing with police charged with such serious crimes. It is unfathomable to believe that career-enhancing benefits are a given to medidawhich protects them from the most severe administrative sanctions.
What is certain is that Marlaska may not know in 2024 the alleged crime that González committed months later.
But it is equally certain that without the exceptional privilege granted to him by the Minister, the DAO would be cheered and outside the chain of command. Without this forced-interior extension, you will now not have DAOs accused of violations.
This privilege wasn’t just extended to the road until I maintained the performance script necessary to produce these things.
Because without this burden, González did not have access to official life to carry out the alleged attack, he could not outweigh his legitimate position to intimidate the victim, as alleged in the complaint.
After the judicial investigation, the attacker told the agent the sentence that renewed the abuse of power: “I know the DAO, he didn’t tell me not to do it.”
González’s conduct is sufficient to impose immediate political liability on Marlaska. A minister must appreciate the associates he chooses and the favors he bestows upon them.
On the other hand, it is alarming to see how the PSOE seems adept at promoting profiles that resemble a typology Koldo Garcia: confident men with Zafie demeanor, macho attitudes and absolute contempt for institutional ethics.
This case actually points to the self-proclaimed feminism that makes the PSOE gala. Pedro Sánchez he came to the defense of the minister from India, dropped his case, and discreetly confirmed that “in these cases I do not accept lectures from anybody”. But the reality of events under the mandate completely eludes them.
