Athlete Etson Barros suffered a car accident in the early hours of this Thursday, April 16, announced Benfica, the club to which the national champion and national record holder in the 3000 meter hurdles belongs.
The Reds, in a brief statement, add that the 25-year-old athlete, born in Cape Verde, is in an induced coma and under observation at Faro Hospital.
Etson Barros is one of the athletes who is part of Benfica’s Olympic project, led by Ana Oliveira.
