The grandson of former Cuban president Raúl Castro tried to secretly send a letter to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, with investment proposals in Cuba and a military warning, at a time when the Americans imposed an energy embargo on the Caribbean island.

The news is advanced by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), revealing that the objective of Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro, also known as “Crab”ended up being unsuccessful.

The man who was supposed to personally deliver the letter to Trump at the White House, a luxury car rental businessman, ended up being blocked from entering the United States by an immigration agent in Miami and, as such, had to return to Havana without fulfilling his mission and without the letterwhich was detained by US officials at the border.

According to the WSJ, which cites an immigration official, the document had a similar format to a diplomatic letter and even had an official Cuban seal. The grandson of Raul Castro, president who succeeded his brother Fidel Castro in 2008 and governed until 2018, proposed to Donald Trump some economic and investment agreements and, consequently, the relief of sanctions to which Cuba has been subjected. As for the military alert, it referred to the fact that the Cuban army is preparing for a possible invasion of the United States.

The WSJ was unable to determine whether the letter, which was supposed to be secret, reached the White House.
