Due to the risk of disturbing public order, ahead of the MHSC-Grenoble match scheduled for this Friday, April 17 at the Mosson stadium in Montpellier, Grenoble supporters who arrived by train at midday were asked by the police to turn around.
As soon as they arrived in Montpellier, this Friday April 17 around 12:45 p.m. at Montpellier-Saint-Roch station, around a hundred Grenoble supporters were asked by the national police to turn around. The intervention of the police took place without difficulty.
The MHSC-Grenoble football match, scheduled for this Friday at 8 p.m. at the Mosson stadium, indeed carries a significant risk of disturbing public order.
“A strong antagonism between Grenoble ultras and pailladins”
This is why the Hérault prefecture issued an order aimed at restricting the movement of visiting supporters on public roads during this meeting. She reports the “strong antagonism between Grenoble ultra supporters and their pailladin counterparts for around ten years” and reminds “several incidents of violence have occurred between fans, raising fears of further clashes”.
Incidents last December
State services point out that “as part of the meeting between Grenoble Foot 38 (GF38) and the MHSC, scheduled for Saturday December 13, 2025, individual members of Butte Paillade 91 (BP91) moved on the sly near the local Red Kaos headquarters (main ultras group of GF38), on the night of Friday December 12 to Saturday December 13, 2025 in Grenoble, to physically confront each other with their Grenoble counterparts”.
This Friday, April 17, the arrival of the Grenoble ultras at Montpellier station, well ahead of the match at La Mosson, raised fears of excesses. The group therefore left towards its departure station, Avignon. No arrests took place.
