Nadia Farès, actress of “Rivières pourpres” and “Marseille”, is dead


Nadia Farès died this Friday, her daughters told AFP. She was 57 years old. The actress was placed in an artificial coma after being found unconscious in a swimming pool in the 9th arrondissement of Paris on Sunday April 12. “It is with immense sadness that we announce the death this Friday of Nadia Farès. France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is above all a mother that we have just lost,” wrote Cylia and Shana Chasman.

Daughter of a Moroccan and an Armenian, Nadia Farès was born in December 1968 in Marrakech (Morocco) before coming to live in France, in Nice, with her parents. Once settled in Paris, she met a film agent who offered her the opportunity to cast for the film. Funny place for a meeting. She was not selected, but the following audition, for an episode of the series Navarroallowed him to make his first appearance on screen in 1993.

She landed her first film role a few months later. In the movie They never forget by Christopher Frank, she shares the bill with Thierry Lhermitte and Marushka Detmers. Priority to family

But it is above all his performance in the thriller The Purple Riversin 2000, which brought him his greatest notoriety. His performance in the action film Wasp Nest by Florent-Emilio Siri in 2002 also left its mark.

But, during the 2000s, Nadia Farès put her career on hold. She met Steve Chasman, an American producer and settled in Los Angeles. The couple have two children, Shana, born in 2002 and Cylia, in 2005. From then on, his private life became his priority. “Starting a family was very important to me. I needed to dedicate myself to it full time,” she tells TV Star in 2021, adding that “the best film in the world could not have [la] convince”, to return to the film sets.

She has undergone several heart operations

We had to wait until 2016 for her to return to the screen.
