A Texas prosecutor promoted an investigation against the brand of Lululemon sportswear for the possible presence of persistent chemicals (PFAS) in their clothes.
Ken Paxton, fiscal general de Texasannounced an investigation against the aforementioned brand, in order to determine if some products contain substances used in the textile industry for their ability to repel water, sweat and stains. The above, because these compounds can remain in the environment and the human body.

“Lululemon is a leading sportswear brand that generated more than $11 billion in fiscal year 2025. The company promotes itself as a lifestyle brand focused on well-being, highlighting sustainability and performance,” recalls a statement from the aforementioned prosecutor.
“However, recent research and consumer concerns have raised questions about the possible presence of certain synthetic materials and compounds chemicals in your clotheswhich could be associated with endocrine disruption, infertility, cancer and other health problems.”
“Americans should not have to worry about being misled when trying to make healthy choices for themselves and their families,” the attorney general said. Paxton. “I will not allow any corporation to sell toxic and harmful materials to consumers at a premium price under the guise of wellness and sustainability. If Lululemon has violated Texas law, it will be held accountable.”
What are PFAs?
PFAS have been used for decades in different products, from kitchen utensils to technical clothing. In sportswear, they allow fabrics to be more resistant to water and stains.
However, it is precisely their persistence that causes the problem, since over time they can affect the health of users.
It should be noted that the company denied the use of PFAs in its products.
