WASHINGTON.- Donald Trumppresident of the United States, announced this Sunday that his country will take control of the Strait of Hormuz “with immediate effect.”
The above after negotiations with the Iranian government concluded without an agreement, which maintains a blockade in the area after the attacks of EU e Israel which began last February 28.
“The meeting went well, agreement was reached on most points, but the only really important point, nuclear weapons, was not approved.“said the US president in Truth Social.

As Trump wrote in social networks“effective immediately, the United States Navy, the best in the world, will begin blocking all ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz.”
“The lockdown will begin shortly. Other countries will participate in this blockade. Iran will not be allowed to profit from this illegal act of extortion. They want money and, more importantly, they want nuclear weapons”.
According to the president, the US Navy will intercept ships in international waters that have paid a toll to Iran to circulate through the strait, ensuring that said fee is “illegal.”
“This is international extortion, and the leaders of countries, especially the United States, will never allow themselves to be extorted.”.
The former reality TV celebrity expressed hope that an agreement will be reached for free entry and exit in the strait, “at some point,” but accused Iran of preventing it by laying mines.
We remember that, since April 8, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

The Republican regretted that even though the meeting lasted almost 20 hours, “Iran is unwilling to give up its nuclear ambitions“.
Although he said that there was sufficient progress to maintain the current truce in the fighting, he denounced that the Iranian authorities “were very inflexible regarding the most important issue,” in reference to the nuclear issue.
