Benfica announced this Monday, February 16, the signing of a new contract with striker Anísio Cabral, who turned 18 on Sunday. The under-17 world and European champion is now linked to the Reds until 2031.
Anísio Cabral is one of the great hopes of Portuguese football, having already deserved José Mourinho’s bet on Benfica’s main team, having been used as a substitute in three games, scoring two goals, against Estrela da Amadora and Alverca, the latter of which was worth a 2-1 victory.
The striker is in his tenth season for Benfica, having won titles at all youth levels. In November he was one of the top scorers at the Under-17 World Cup with seven goals, including scoring the winning goal in the final against Austria, 1-0.
