The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has revealed that “the leaders” of Israel and Lebanon will speak this Thursday as part of the talks between the two countries to reach a ceasefire, in which Washington acts as a mediator.
“We’re trying to give some breathing room between Israel and Lebanon. It’s been a long time since the two leaders have spoken, like 34 years. Tomorrow it will happen. Great!” Trump proclaimed in a message published on Truth Social.

The announcement, which does not specify who these “leaders” are, comes after the governments of both countries had agreed to meet again to continue talking about the idea of a ceasefire, without Hezbollah, to pause the Israeli attacks against Lebanon, which began after the war with Iran.
