Where do the bodies come from?
“Forensic police technicians were dispatched immediately to carry out a detailed forensic examination of the site”specifies the text emphasizing that “Additional forensic analyzes are being carried out to determine the origin” bodies.

State of emergency since July 2025
The archipelago, renowned for its carnival and beaches, is living under a state of emergency declared in July 2025 due to violence, just weeks after emerging from a state of emergency between December 2024 and April 2025.
Since 2021, a state of emergency has been declared four times in the country. Despite a reduction in crime, the country remains a hub for drug trafficking, experts say.

According to a United States Department of State report from March 2025, the homicide rate of 37 per 100,000 people makes Trinidad and Tobago the sixth most dangerous nation in the world in 2023.
