Construction production fell 1.9% in the euro zone and 2% in the EU in February, reveals Eurostat

Construction production decreased in February by 1.9% in the euro zone and 2% in the European Union compared to the same month in 2025, Eurostat reported this Monday, 20th. In the monthly variation (compared to January), the indicator fell 0.2% in the euro area and rose 0.1% in the EU.

In the annual comparison, the biggest drops were recorded in Poland (-13.7%), Spain (-10.2%) and France (-3.5%). The largest increases were observed in Slovenia (24.1%), Romania (15.6%) and Slovakia (8.2%).

In the monthly variation, the most significant drops were seen in Poland (-3.7%), Belgium and France (both -1.4%) and Germany (-1.2%), while the biggest increases were in Romania (8.7%), Slovenia (5.5%) and Slovakia (5.4%).

In Portugal, construction production fell 0.7% in the annual comparison and registered an increase of 0.2% in the monthly variation.
