The actress Nathalie Baye died at the age of 77 this Saturday, April 18, 2026. During the summer of 2009, while filming Soins Complets in Sète with Audrey Tautou and Sami Bouajila, she gave an interview to Midi Libre Sète. She had also made a true declaration of love to Sète and its inhabitants.
Nathalie Baye, whose death was announced this Saturday April 18, had filmed in Sète in 2009. It was for the feature film Comprehensive care by Pierre Salvadori with Audrey Tautou and Sami Bouajila. Between two takes, done that summer, in the middle of the evening in the AmeriKclub restaurant, she gave an interview to Free Midday where she notably declared her love for the city.
She played a play in Molière in 1993
The actress notably recalled that she had played, in 1993, at the Molière theater “for the play Les Fausses Confidences in collaboration with Chaillot. We stayed fifteen days for this creation but with the anxiety of rehearsals and concerns about the staging, I did not have time to enjoy it. But I saw that Sète was a charming city.”
They smiled at me, they said hello, it was really nice
During this filming, which lasted several weeks on the singular island, Nathalie Baye confided that she was enjoying the city a lot. “This town is really nice, it’s friendly and pretty. Here, the people are very nice, I especially noticed that when I went to the market halls the other day. People smiled at me, they said hello to me, it was really nice. Of all the towns in the South that I know, the population here is by far the friendliest.”
Impressed by a jousting tournament
“What are your favorite places in Sète?” then asked him Free Midday. “I haven’t had time to see everything. But I already really like all these canals. I also love going for a walk in Sète, early in the morning, because in the evening, I prefer to revise my texts for the next day. I went for a swim quite far away on the beach and when I returned to the city center I stopped to watch the jousting tournament. It’s impressive, colorful and friendly.” Nathalie Baye then returned to Sète for the preview screening of the film.
