According to the document, the implementation of the new functionality across the entire network will be gradual until the end of 2026, in a partnership with Visa and Shift4.

Until now, Payshop services could only be paid in cash. Now, according to a statement, “customers will be able, initially, to pay their bills with a bank card, and in a later phase, they will be able to use this method in all services on the network”.

We are sowing growth, with the aim of transforming the reality of Payshop, our agents and customers, paying for services by card is a Portuguese preference. With this new payment method, we bring more flexibility and more security to the entire activity. We will attract new customers and, clearly, increase sales among those who are already users of our services”, said the CEO of Payshop, Tiago Mota.

Shift4 will provide the technology that enables card acceptance across the entire Payshop network.

“Our technology now allows Payshop to offer a more agile, secure and complete payment experience, both for agents and consumers”, said a director at Shift 4, Liliana Oliveira, in a statement.
