He president of the United States, Donald Trumpwarned this Saturday that Iran can’t “chantajear” a Washington with his changes of position on the Strait of Hormuzafter Tehran will declare again closed this strategic maritime passage.
“We’re talking to them. They wanted to close the strait again, you know, like they’ve been doing for years, and they can’t blackmail us,” Trump said during an event at the White House.

The president said that there would be “some information” on Iran later in the dayadding: “We are taking a firm stance.”
IThey will close the Strait of Hormuz again on Saturday just a few hours after reopening it, in response to the United States’ decision to maintain the blockade of its ports.
About a fifth of the world’s hydrocarbon trade normally transits through this strategic sea route.
