Anguish once again settled in three Mexican municipalities where relatives and neighbors have had to organize to search for young people whose whereabouts remain a mystery.

In Hueypoxtla, the search for Cristofer Gael Morales Montiel, Just 13 years old, it has mobilized practically the entire municipality. The minor disappeared on November 1 during a costume contest.

Civil Protection teams, firefighters and police have visited fields, canals and places without success. “Here we all know him; we cannot sit idly by,” says Don Refugio, a neighbor who joined the work from the first day.

The affected communities have set up collection centers, organized mass combings and disseminated search information on social networks and public transportation. However, they point out that the institutional response has been slow and bureaucratic.
