Iztacalco improves the quality of life of older adults and people with disabilities through the delivery of technical aids

Aware of the needs of older adults and those living with disabilities, the Iztacalco Mayor’s Office, headed by the mayor Lourdes Paz Reyes, implemented the social program “Delivery of Orthopedic and Hearing Aids 2025”, with the purpose of improving the mobility, autonomy and quality of life of the people of Iztacal.

With these actions, Mayor Lourdes Paz personally went to the homes of some beneficiaries and led the delivery of technical devices this November 12 in the Agrícola Oriental neighborhood, where neighbors received orthopedic and hearing aids directly.

On this day the leader was accompanied by the General Director of Social Development; The Director of Housing and Social Groups; and the Head of the Departmental Unit for Attention to Groups in Vulnerable Situations.

During this year, 667 supports were granted directly to people who today have better conditions to function in their daily lives and continue being an active part of the community.

Among the supports delivered, 86 hearing aids, 170 canes, 41 crutches, 69 walkers and 301 wheelchairs stand out.

The delivery days were held at different points in the district, including the esplanade of the Iztacalco Mayor’s Office and the auditorium. Silvestre Revueltas, on May 2, July 1 and 30, August 29 and September 30 of this year.

This program is part of the permanent social support actions promoted by the government of Iztacalco to promote the inclusion, equality and well-being of the most vulnerable sectors.

Interested people can register for the module located in Building B, ground floor, belonging to the Housing and Social Groups Directorate of the Iztacalco Mayor’s Office.

The access requirements to the program are: INE (or of the father, mother or guardian in the case of minors), CURP, Proof of address (if it does not appear in the INE), Medical certificate indicating the type of orthopedic or hearing device required and CURP of the minor (in case of request by guardians).

With each support given, the Iztacalco Mayor’s Office demonstrates its commitment to a more supportive and inclusive community, where no one is left behind and all people can live with dignity and a better quality of life.
