Her mother starts crying and screaming in the airport: a little girl aged 14 months no longer breathes when she leaves the plane


Monday April 13, 2026, a 14-month-old baby suffered respiratory arrest when leaving the plane at Mulhouse-Basel airport. Luckily, the child was able to be resuscitated.

Big scare in eastern France at the start of the week. Last Monday, a plane landed at Mulhouse-Basel airport. Shortly after the passengers disembarked, a mother indicated that her child was no longer breathing. Emergency services intervened after the little girl was resuscitated, note Here Alsace.

Resuscitated by a passenger and a policewoman

It was a plane coming from Algiers which landed on the evening of Monday on the tarmac of the Franco-Swiss airport. Passengers exit the aircraft and head to the cross-border checkpoint. That’s when a mother starts crying while shouting that her child is no longer breathing.

It was quickly noticed that the baby, a girl then aged 14 months, was no longer breathing and her lips were turning blue, according to the story of our colleagues.

A passenger on the plane and the police officer at the station intervened and immediately performed first aid procedures. Luckily, they managed to resuscitate the child. The mother and her young daughter were then taken care of by emergency services.
