The federal representative Fuensanta Guerrero urged the Government of Zacatecas to implement awareness campaigns and preventive programs on criminal risks due to improper use of the Artificial intelligence (AI) for sexual purposes.
He remembered that the Federal Penal Code establishes penalties of up to 16 years in prison for those who produce, reproduce, distribute or market prohibited children’s content, including digitally generated or manipulated content.
The legislator made the call through a point of agreement published in the Parliamentary Gazette of the Chamber of Deputiesin which he maintains that current regulations do not advance at the same pace as technology.

He highlighted that it is essential to train teachers, mothers and fathers, tutors and management personnel to identify risks and act appropriately in the event of possible cases of digital violence.
He emphasized that it is essential to inform and raise awareness among students, particularly adolescents and youth, about the legal and emotional consequences of these behaviors.
Zacatecas case for misuse of AI
The proposal arises after the serious events recorded in the Technical Secondary School No. 1in his native Zacatecas, where a teenager created a pornographic catalog using IA to manipulate images of some 400 colleagues, material that he later spread on the Internet.
The Zacatecan woman described the case as an alarming example of the damage that can be caused by the irresponsible use of these technologies.
“Artificial Intelligence can be a powerful tool for learning, but it can also become a weapon that destroys lives when used for the purposes of digital sexual violence. We cannot wait for a tragedy to knock on the doors of every school in the country to act,” he declared.

The legislator warned that society cannot allow technological innovation to become a threat to girls, boys, adolescents and youth, who are more susceptible to being victims of these practices. “Ignorance of the law does not exempt from its compliance,” he warned.
Meanwhile, he asked state authorities to establish permanent campaigns in educational centers, along with specialized training for teaching staff, in order to guarantee that the problem is recognized, victims are protected and aggressors are not covered up.
