QJ Motor is one of those Chinese brands that is on the rise. The particularity of this brand is to offer a range of motorcycles diversified both by the categories it covers and by the engine architectures chosen.
For this little sports car that is the SRK 421 RR which is intended for A2 licenses but not only, QJ has chosen a 421 cm3 in-line 4-cylinder engine. Apart from Kawasaki with the Ninja ZX4R, no other proposal is available on the market. Obviously, this little machine deserved a try.
An amazing little engine
A 421 cc in-line four-cylinder is intriguing since it has been a long time since there was one on the market. This climbs to 14,500 rpm, which means that we must not hesitate to keep the engine, a lot of engine even since the 77.5 horsepower is available at 14,000 rpm and the maximum torque at 13,000 rpm.
There is a level at 9000 rpm from which there is a burst of vitality, and another a little earlier around 6000. We expected to find a sharp engine, we are not disappointed but the surprise is lower.
That this engine runs on top was expected. It is even surprisingly demonstrative considering its displacement, but the most surprising is its availability at 2 or 3000 rpm. Following traffic in town or on small roads does not require playing with the box.
This engine responds well without having to brutalize it. Obviously, it’s not a catapult with its 421 cm3 but merging into traffic and accelerating when necessary is not a problem. It was a fear before hitting the road and it is clear that the availability of this engine is astonishing.
For the practical aspects, apart from the heated handles for comfort and the shifter for steering, everything is there.
Almost complete equipment
Like all QJ Motors, our SRK 421 RR is equipped with Marzocchi suspension elements and Brembo braking. All this works well and a nice thing for a sports car, the suspensions are not too firm on small roads.
The only regret is that the 37 mm fork is a little small for committed driving, especially if the asphalt is irregular, whereas the engine seems to be able to give more. But overall, it’s a nice surprise in terms of the chassis, suspension and braking.
For the practical aspects, apart from the heated handles for comfort and the shifter for steering (too bad for a sports car), everything is there. A USB-A and C socket, two driving modes that you unfortunately select in the menus are not very practical, the launch control for great starts, and plenty of information on the 7-inch TFT screen.
We even have tire pressure and temperature. The only downside is not having a joystick on the left handlebar to use the menus with all the functions because the buttons present are not very intuitive.

Easy to handle
Most of the competing motorcycles are equipped with a parallel twin-cylinder or single-cylinder engine, so seeing an in-line 4-cylinder arrive brings a new lease of life for A2 license holders, but not only.
Indeed, if you are looking for a machine that is easy to handle and capable of great performance, a machine that you enjoy using because you have to take care of your trajectories and your restarts when exiting a curve, a machine that you can drive without reaching highly objectionable speeds, undoubtedly this SRK 421 RR deserves to be considered.
An argument in its favor is also its price at €5,999 since if we look at the other 4-cylinder 400 on the market, this QJ is still €3,700 cheaper than the Kawasaki. The 400 or 450 cm3 offering on the market has significantly increased in recent years, forcing manufacturers to put forward their arguments to convince, with this SRK 421 RR, QJ Motor is seriously distinguishing itself.
